Muscle Sweatsuit

Occasionally I'll get an idea in my head and I can't sleep until I've seen it through. Last night as I was looking through fabric, I pulled a bundle of blue French Terry cloth out and instantaneously pictured this little sleeveless hoodie and short set in my mind! I pulled out two of my patterns and meshed them for the shirt design, and then altered my Dapper Boys Shorts pattern to better fit Della. I made them a little too big, but she'll be able to wear them for a long time!

The hoodie went smoothly and quickly last night, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of the whole process! So this morning when I woke up, itching to finish the shorts, it was frustrating when I ran into problem after problem with my machines! I had to rethread my serger several times before it worked, broke a needle on my sewing machine, ran out of bobbin thread TWICE... and just as I was about to hammer on eyelets for the drawstring, I realized I only had one eyelet left. Phooey. So I had to leave them be while I took a break to go out with my family, and swung by a Joann's before coming home to get a package of eyelets.

I messed up on the pockets, which was ultimately just a user error. So, they're useless, but cute. I'm in love with it, and so is Della, and the best part is... it's totally gender neutral so Henry can wear it, too.

Winning!
