Same Sweatsuit, Different Kids
One of the things I love most about making clothes, is seeing how they fit differently on each kid. My goal is to make one-size-fits-most clothes, that are slim, elongated and yet stretchy enough to fit a wide range of kids sizes. Literally from 18 months to 6 years. One of the ways I make that possible, is by using braided elastic instead of knitted for any bottoms. The braided is softer with a more generous stretch, but still has great recovery. That way, I can make the waistband a little smaller than usual, but it's still comfortable enough for Della to wear, and is just the right size to stay on a diaper bum, and anything in between! I really love French Terrycloth, too. It's a magical, attractive fabric.
